European leaders have sharply criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump's recent tariff threats and his expressed interest in acquiring Greenland. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, condemned the MOVE as counterproductive to NATO alliances, warning it could embolden adversaries like China and Russia.

Kaja Kallas, Estonia's representative and EU top diplomat, suggested such actions only benefit geopolitical rivals. The EU emphasized Greenland's sovereignty is non-negotiable, with Cyprus confirming emergency discussions about potentially suspending trade talks with the U.S.
